About Me
As a cardiac electrophysiology specialist in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine within The Ohio State University College of Medicine, I diagnose and treat heart rhythm disorders. ?As famously said, “do unto others as you would have them do unto you”. I treat every patient as I would want my loved ones to be treated, my goal is to help my patients become healthier, feel better and live longer if possible. I started a Cardio-Neural Ablation Program here at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center to help younger patients with a slow heartbeat avoid pacemakers. My approach also emphasizes preventive medicine, and I ensure each patient understands their conditions and treatment options available, so they can make informed decisions to improve their health.
The field of electrophysiology is fascinating, and there is a lot to achieve in preventing and treating abnormal heart rhythms. My research focus is on sudden cardiac death, the cardiac autonomic nervous system (ANS) and arrhythmia prevention. I have published many manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals, and I have also authored multiple book chapters over a period of decade.
In addition to my clinical and research responsibilities, I am an assistant clinical professor of Internal Medicine in the College of Medicine. I’m proud to work with such an exceptional team committed to providing the most advanced care possible here at OSU. I am honored Best resident, best employee and Best Teacher Award over the years. Also, I was a recipient of ACC jeopardy national championship in 2019.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

Everything was good. I came for a follow up for the medication that I have been taking.
Dr gunda awesome.
Dr Gunda was a delightful surprise. He was extremely informative and sincere. He wanted to make sure I understood and also inquired if my grandson had any questions who came along for support. He has some knowledge of the heart since he is an EMT. I feel confident in Dr. Gunda and he has a great bedside manner.
He explained everything in a way I could understand. Very caring!
