A fascination with science led me to a career in medicine, but it was an appreciation for people that inspired me to become a primary care physician. I now serve as the lead physician for Outpatient Care New Albany General Internal Medicine, and I am board certified in Internal Medicine and Obesity Medicine.
It’s a privilege to be able to build relationships with my patients and to support them through their health journeys. I’m passionate about educating my patients about all their individualized treatment options and empowering them to make healthy choices in their lives. In addition to primary and preventive care, I also specialize in chronic disease management, preoperative medicine and women’s health. I speak both Chinese and Japanese.
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is a very special place to work because there are abundant opportunities to continue to learn and grow as physicians. I love working with teams of highly motivated people who challenge me to deliver the best care possible every day.
When I’m not working, I love spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy traveling and exploring new places. I grew up in Japan and also like to read Japanese novels.

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
