About Me
As a psychiatrist, I diagnose and treat young adults who are facing mental health challenges. I specialize in treating patients experiencing first-episode psychosis, which involves symptoms such as hallucinations, delusions, and disorganized thinking. I also work with patients who are at an elevated risk for psychosis. In addition, I treat mood disorders and anxiety as well as help patients who are undergoing complex life transitions.
I take a holistic and patient-centered approach to care, ensuring each person receives personalized interventions grounded in the latest psychiatric research. Through a combination of empathetic listening, clinical expertise, and evidence-based practices, I am dedicated to meaningfully impacting my patients’ lives. I prioritize building a safe, trusting therapeutic alliance that fosters open communication and long-term well-being, and I empower patients with the tools and support they need for independence as they navigate young adulthood.
My passion for psychiatry started during my undergraduate education when I worked with youth who were experiencing mental health challenges. I was privileged to have exceptional mentors throughout my training who taught me to prioritize comprehensive mental health care through thorough assessment, clinical interviewing, and evidence-based treatment. Through this guidance, I am strongly committed to connecting with patients and understanding their psychodynamic nuances.
My role includes helping to educate the next generation of mental health care providers. I am an assistant clinical professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 09/30/2024, Dr. Hamilton has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
