Biography

I am an associate professor at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.

I obtained my medical degree from the Chicago Medical School. I then trained in orthopedic surgery and clinical research at Saint Louis University Hospital. I subsequently completed an advanced fellowship in pediatric orthopedics at the Northern California Shriners Hospital for Children and UC Davis Medical Center, where I gained expertise in cerebral palsy treatment, child and young adult hip preservation, limb deformity treatment, club foot and scoliosis. I then showed my dedication to the field of pediatric orthopedics by completing a second fellowship at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, Australia, where I gained further experience in treatment of children with complex limb deformities and cerebral palsy.

I am board certified and is a fellow of both the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and American Orthopaedics Association (AOA). I am a true clinician-researcher and have presented my research regionally, nationally and internationally. I have co-authored book chapters and has over 70 published scientific articles. I am an active member of many national/international professional societies, including the AAOS, AACPDM, POSNA, LLRS, AOA and holds numerous leadership positions within those organizations, including my current role on the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.

In my free time, I enjoy many outdoor sports, traveling and spending quality time with my wife and three children.

Consulting and Related Relationships

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

As of 11/3/2025, Dr. Tabaie has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
