About Me

As a family nurse practitioner, my goal is to meet patients where they are and provide the support they need to live their lives to the fullest. I help patients manage chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, depression and hyperlipidemia, and I treat acute illnesses like respiratory infections, gastrointestinal issues and vaginitis. I offer women’s health care and cancer screenings via PAP smears and other exams. I am also dedicated to caring for LGBTQ+ patients. The Ohio State University is an open-minded place offering high-quality, interdisciplinary care and I am proud to be a Buckeye.

To help my patients achieve their health and wellness goals, I focus on disease prevention through evidence-based interventions and lifestyle choices. This includes encouraging patients to quit smoking, increase physical activity and eat a balanced diet, and by providing pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP). I prioritize developing relationships with my patients at Ohio State East Hospital to provide the best care possible. In my role, I also make appropriate referrals to connect patients with specialists when needed.

My research interests include hypertension management using evidence-based practice to improve the quality of care for these patients. While working toward my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree, I served as a quality improvement coach to five primary care sites around Ohio to improve hypertension control among Medicaid patients. I have presented my DNP project at local and national conferences, including the Midwest Nursing Research Society (MNRS), The Fuld National Summit and at The Ohio State University Advanced Practice Provider conference.

I currently serve as a clinician representative in the hypertension quality improvement project that Ohio State Total Health and Wellness is participating in. In addition, I coordinate with The Ohio State University College of Nursing clinical placement office to accept precepted students into our clinic. My job at Total Health and Wellness is the culmination of being able to practice as a doctorate-prepared family nurse practitioner, precepting medical and nurse practitioner students, mentoring DNP students, and being involved in our clinic’s quality improvement efforts to manage hypertension. I am proud to help train upcoming health care professionals.

When I am not working, I love spending time with my husband, our four children and my friends. I participate as a den leader for my daughter’s Cub Scout pack and enjoy spending time outside and running.

Excellent person very happy with her

This " care provider" does anything but listen to my concerns or provide any sort of care. I have had no progress with my health after seeing this " care provider" for 2 years. I was sitting in the room crying because I am at dead ends with that to do next and I asked for a few labs to be drawn. Not only did this provider make me feel stupid for asking, she denied my asks and suggested more medications that we have tried in the past and have failed. She will order any medication with no questions asked but when it comes to finding the root cause of my pain- she wants no part in actually helping me feel better or get results. All she wants is just pain management without ever wanting to find how to get rid of the pain.
