Biography
As an endocrinologist, I specialize in diagnosing and treating patients for metabolic bone and mineral disorders. I had the wonderful opportunity to help launch the Metabolic Bone Clinic at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, where I see patients for various issues ranging from osteoporosis and fragility fractures to more rare conditions such as hypoparathyroidism and parathyroid cancer.
During the diagnostic stage, patients can expect blood and urine tests to assess bone and mineral metabolism and DXA scans to measure bone density. My patients can count on me for customized care plans tailored to their needs, and I have been recognized as a Castle Connolly 'Regional Top Doctor' annually since 2010.
I am known as the go-to clinician to address rare metabolic bone and mineral disorders and high-risk osteoporosis. The primary reason to treat osteoporosis is to prevent bone fractures, and I am passionate about doing what I can to help people in the community avoid these types of injuries. As part of that goal, I established a care pathway for patients who have been hospitalized for a bone fracture to help prevent a second one.
My role includes serving as associate director of clinical trials for the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism. I am also a principal investigator on several trials aimed at enhancing patient outcomes. It’s deeply rewarding to offer our patients access to the most innovative treatments available.
I love teaching and often lead continuing education meetings with faculty and trainees to discuss best practices for treating bone and mineral conditions. In addition, I serve as a clinical associate professor of Internal Medicine and as associate program director of the Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism Fellowship Program. I’m the faculty advisor for the Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association and co-chair of the Asian Pacific Islander Desi American Employee Resource Group.
