About Me
As a nurse practitioner working in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, I focus on helping patients improve their quality of life. Our patients have various functional impairments, often due to stroke, injury or other disabling conditions. Helping them overcome their current deficits is both challenging and rewarding. I am constantly impressed by how strong and resilient our patients and their families can be when faced with traumatic events.
I am fortunate and proud to work with an outstanding multidisciplinary team. Our physicians, therapists and entire staff are committed to helping our patients through any means possible. By combining teaching, research and clinical care, we promote and provide the highest level of health care possible.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy connecting with my community by participating in a neighborhood book club, yoga and other community events.

Susan has been amazing for 6 years. I wouldn't go anywhere else
No problems
She was phenomenal. I tried to getHelp with issue for over a year. She was able to diagnose the problem at first visit.
Amazingly supportive
She is amazing very good At listening to my concerns and how and what I was struggling with, she gave gave very simple instructions so with my TBI I was able to get what she was saying I am very glad she is part of my team
I appreciate the attentive and professional care I receive.
The care provider was very professional and listen to my concerns.
Very educated very knowledgeable very understanding asked many questions and gave me an opportunity to use my own words even though my words were not clear because of my headache, but I really respect my caregiver
She is the best. She listens, offers suggestions specifically for my situation. Very compassionate and firm when I need to hear it. Very concerned abt helping people get to where they need to bed or desire to be.
Susan, NP was knowledgeable about my history and medication that would help my tremors. She looked at me, while I was talking. Susan made me feel that I was doing well and showed genuine concern, requested a 6 week check up, to see how if my new medication, was helping. I felt that I could open up completely with Susan!
100% Good
She was absolutely amazing with how she explained what she felt us going on with me I felt very comfortable with her and it was a very good experience
It was very positive and empowering. It made going forward easier and productive.
Susan was wonderful, kind and competent. She was helpful and seemed to care deeply.
Awesome provider, very engaged with me asking questions to better understand my issue, very easy to talk with and provided valuable feedback from my responses, and had other treatment options available if needed.
Goodgood
Excellent at helping me understand what is and has been going on with my condition that I see her for.
Excellent care provider that is always concerned and knowledgeable about my health care.
I found it very helpful that Bowman-Burpee reviewed my summaries from other providers care as well as my medications. As a result, I have a greater plan of care that will allow me to improve medication management.
Very good
Susan is a caring, compassionate, and thorough provider. She understands and assists with the thousands of requests from BWC to help me with my claim. I was forever indebted to her. She has an amazing attention to detail. I am very thankful for her!
Very good experience and no bad experiences
Susan Bowman Burpee is an excellent health provider to all my medical issues.
None, everything was perfect for me I mean my blood pressure was really high. But it definitely was better wen I took it after the visit
Took extra time to help me with a pm&r PT issue.
Susan is very patient , kind and caring . She Is concise, clear and to the point. This TBI has been a long tough rough. I gotta say she has made it better and help get me the care I needed. If something dosnt work we try something else. I have a greatly improved quality of life. She extremely knowledge Abd also has news and refreshing ideas.
Excellent
Ms. Susan was the first PA that actually listened to me. She reviewed my prescriptions, and found a conflict that could be causing my issues. She is a great asset to the OSU team,
My caregiver and I noticed multiple red flags during my appointment with RN Susan Burpee. Some of these red flags were:- She rambled and talked fast and rushed through the entire appointment- She said "Don't send me a long message or I won't read it" when I wasn't planning on sending her a message at all and the conversation wasn't even on the subject of messaging. After reviewing her visit note I then realized almost everything she wrote was Incorrect. She did not notate my answers how I expressed them and twisted words I said to different meanings. The physical evaluation was also done incorrectly in multiple ways. She didn't record what actually happened and also added multiple things she never truly evaluated. I can be more specific about incidents if you would like to call me and ask but writing every detail is difficult for me. I will be contacting OSU patient experience as well as scheduling another appointment with a different RN in the OSU TBI Clinic
Susan Bowman is always excellent in listening and offering suggestions during viists. The only concern I had was when she mentioned turning me over to my family physician for medication monitoring, which concerned me since he is not a worker's comp provider.
Always takes time to listen and respond to my concerns and issues
SHE WAS GOOD
Listened and reassured my experience is typical for concussion.
Knowable and caring
She was a second option. I feel like she really listened and made a plan based on me I that moment not just routine
Very good
During my appt. Dr went over meds with me, I haven't seen this Dr since 2018 or 2019, the Dr questioned the medication I am taking overall and was unclear why I was taking certain meds due to other medication I am taking. All of my regular Dr's have went over all my medications and know all medications I am on and worked to have my medications on the lowest dose possible.
