About Me
As a nurse practitioner working in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, I focus on helping patients improve their quality of life. Our patients have various functional impairments, often due to stroke, injury or other disabling conditions. Helping them overcome their current deficits is both challenging and rewarding. I am constantly impressed by how strong and resilient our patients and their families can be when faced with traumatic events.
I am fortunate and proud to work with an outstanding multidisciplinary team. Our physicians, therapists and entire staff are committed to helping our patients through any means possible. By combining teaching, research and clinical care, we promote and provide the highest level of health care possible.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy connecting with my community by participating in a neighborhood book club, yoga and other community events.

During my appt. Dr went over meds with me, I haven't seen this Dr since 2018 or 2019, the Dr questioned the medication I am taking overall and was unclear why I was taking certain meds due to other medication I am taking. All of my regular Dr's have went over all my medications and know all medications I am on and worked to have my medications on the lowest dose possible.

She is amazing. Gave me ideas on how to improve & noticed something that all my other doctors missed. She is kind knowledgeable and detailed. Notices small things that make a difference. Explains things until I'm comfortable & I understand what she is telling me.
Very patient and concerned about my health needs, on this visit I received a botox treatment for recurring headaches. Susan was very gentle with the multiple head injections.

Great personality
Dr. Burpee is wonderful! She is definitely a provider for the right reasons. She really cares about the whole patient, both physically & mentally. She takes time to listen and also to explain. She is empathic and truly compassionate to my needs and takes time with me. She responds to my calls and emails so quickly, putting me at ease. Without her, I would be lost!

Provider was filling in for a doctor who had left the practice. The provider was not an MD but was very helpful in referring me to others for treatment and recommending ways to alleviate pain.
