Biography
I am a clinical and research pharmacist at The Ohio State University’s Division of General Internal Medicine. I am a Board-Certified Ambulatory Care Specialist, Certified Diabetes Care and Education specialist, and Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist.
My research focuses on improving health outcomes for patients regarding diabetes care and weight management. My current studies aim to assess how continuous glucose monitoring in the primary care setting changes health status for patients with diabetes, and the impact of physicians, pharmacists, and pharmacotherapy working in unison to provide weight management services to patients. I hope that with my research, the impact of pharmacists working in clinical settings with physicians can improve the health of all patients.

In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 11/3/2025, Dr. Higginbotham has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
