Biography
I am Tatia Williams, PsyD, and I specialize in health psychology and the emotional and behavioral aspects of neurological conditions. My practice at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center focuses on helping individuals navigate the psychological impact of conditions such as multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, movement disorders, chronic headaches and dizziness.
I believe in treating the whole person, not just the diagnosis. Neurological conditions can affect many areas of life, including emotional well-being, relationships, work, independence and sense of identity. My goal is to provide a supportive space where patients feel understood and empowered as they adapt to the challenges of living with complex medical conditions.
My approach to care is individualized and collaborative. I use evidence-based therapies, including cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, interpersonal therapy and mindfulness-based strategies, tailoring treatment to each patient's unique needs and goals. I focus on practical improvements that help patients manage stress, cope with uncertainty, adjust to illness, strengthen relationships and reconnect with meaningful aspects of their lives.
As a psychologist in the Division of Neuropsychology in the Department of Neurology at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, I bring experience in integrated healthcare and value close collaboration with neurologists and other members of the care team. By addressing psychological health as an essential part of overall well-being, I help patients develop effective strategies to improve their quality of life while living with neurological conditions.
