Primary Care - Family Medicine
Department: Family Medicine
I focus on providing exceptional primary care as a family and community medicine specialist at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. I regularly treat patients for conditions including hypertension, prediabetes and type 2 diabetes mellitus, with an emphasis on disease prevention and treatment. One of the benefits of community medicine that I especially enjoy is the opportunity to develop longstanding relationships with patients and their families.
As a primary care physician-scientist, I am passionate about moving research forward. My work is centered on strategies to prevent cardiovascular diseases and reduce cardiovascular health disparities. As a member of the Dorothy M. Davis Heart and Lung Research Institute here at Ohio State, my current projects are on environment-biology interactions in hypertension. I am also a member of the Family and Community Medicine Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee and the Quality Improvement and Research Committee at Outpatient Care East.
My goals include helping to expand access to high-quality care to all communities that need it, a passion that was instilled in me during childhood. Raised in both urban and rural communities, I am motivated to help reduce the burden of health disparities in the medically underserved communities that I grew up in.

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
