She's really nice. It's kinda like she don't hear me when I tell her how bad this pain is. The ibuprofen only helps a little. I'm in bed all day because of my issue.

Instead of telling me what I should do, she asked me what my thoughts were. While I guess that was courteous, I'm not a doctor and that's what I was there to find out. I'm also a nicotine user, and apparently that was a main point of concert/contention for her. I understand that it's not the best health choice, but the bulk of the appointment became about that, instead of whether or not I should have surgery.
