Biography

I am a pulmonologist specializing in lung disease, critical care medicine and the care of patients with complex respiratory conditions. My practice at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center focuses on pulmonary fibrosis, lung transplantation, respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis and critical illness in immunocompromised patients.

I am committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care that is tailored to each patient's needs. I care for adults with a wide range of both acute and chronic lung conditions, including advanced respiratory diseases that require specialized management and critical care support.

My clinical interests also include airway management, respiratory distress syndrome, and the treatment of critically ill patients in the intensive care unit. I work closely with patients and their families to develop individualized treatment plans, helping them navigate complex medical conditions while supporting the best possible outcomes.

I believe that effective care begins with clear communication, thoughtful collaboration and a patient-centered approach. My goal is to ensure that every patient receives expert care that addresses both their immediate medical needs and their long-term health and quality of life.

Academics and research

I am an assistant professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, and my research focuses on factors that influence outcomes, both in complex disease and in cancer care. I specialize in clinical and translational research that uses patient outcomes data, molecular characterization and advanced diagnostic approaches to improve treatment strategies and patient care.

My research interests include identifying risk factors associated with disease development and progression, evaluating patterns of routine care and direct treatment and studying how emerging technologies, such as next-generation sequencing, can inform clinical decision-making. Through this work, I seek to better understand the biological and clinical factors that influence patient outcomes.

I am particularly interested in translating research findings into practical improvements in care delivery. By examining real-world treatment patterns and outcomes, I aim to generate evidence that supports more personalized, effective and data-driven approaches to disease management.

My work bridges clinical medicine and research, with the goal of advancing knowledge that improves diagnosis, treatment selection and long-term outcomes. Through collaborative investigation and outcomes-based research, I strive to contribute discoveries that enhance patient care and inform future scientific inquiry.

Consulting and related relationships

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

As of 11/3/2025, Tyler Haddad has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
