About Me
As a board-certified and fellowship-trained otolaryngologist who subspecializes in rhinology, I treat conditions that affect the nose and sinuses. I am passionate about helping people find relief from their symptoms using both medical therapies and the most advanced, minimally invasive surgical techniques available.
I enjoy getting to know patients from all walks of life and strive to meet patients where they are. I am deeply committed to ensuring that patients understand their diagnosis and treatment options. I believe that patients should feel empowered to make informed decisions about their health.
In addition to my clinical responsibilities, I am a health policy researcher focused on promoting the safe and effective use of medical devices. My work has been published in The New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, and Nature Biotechnology, and featured in outlets such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, CBS News, and Forbes.
My faculty position affords me the opportunity to work with our fantastic residents and medical students. Mentoring the next generation of surgeons and scholars is an especially rewarding part of my career.
I’m thrilled to practice at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center alongside respected experts in world-class facilities. Our staff is incredibly friendly and shares a deep commitment to providing the best care possible for our patients.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends and cheering on my beloved Ohio State Buckeyes.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 09/30/2024, Dr. Rathi has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
He listens and he understands by issue. His words to me was "I can't imagine how awful you feel". Those words gave me the trust I needed. I've experienced too many care workers with no passion in their work. Dr. Rathi is very passionate about his work. The messaging system within the "MyChart" is a wonderful tool to communicate a quick update on the progress of the treatment he prescribed. To receive a response within an hour from a Doctor in today's medical environment was very impressive. This eliminated the frustration of navigating through a menu driven phone environment.
He truly listened to me and what was really going on. He only used the scans and X-rays as a tool. He listened and asked me what I hoped to accomplish and we talked it over and I'm ever so thankful he did surgery as I feel so much better already then I have in years! He truly listened to me as a patient. That's what makes an excellent Doctor.
