About Me
I am a gastroenterologist who specializes in treating patients with cirrhosis, liver cancer and other conditions that may require liver transplantation. I am especially passionate about living donor organ donation because it decreases wait times on the transplant list and can significantly improve patient outcomes. Livers grow back quickly after donation and expanding access to and education about this type of treatment is a priority of mine.
I am passionate about patient education because I believe knowledge is empowerment. I make sure each patient understands their diagnosis, is aware of all available treatment options and recognizes why regular follow-ups are necessary for proper care. Improving access to quality medical care is important to me and I have always worked with minority patients who may have struggled to receive quality care in the past.
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is committed to clinical care, patient education and research, and I am proud to be part of the team. Thanks to innovative research, we are developing enhanced therapies that allow us to provide the most cutting-edge treatments for our patients. My primary areas of research interest include the study of viral hepatitis, hepatocellular carcinoma and decreasing liver transplant wait times.
In addition to my clinical work, I serve as an assistant professor of Gastroenterology, with a specialization in Transplant Hepatology, at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. I enjoy teaching and have previously been recognized as a Medical Student Teacher of the Year.
When I am not working, I love spending time with my wife, son and daughter. I enjoy exploring the outdoors and watching sports.

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. I have the best care provider who I trust with my life. Dr. Mendiratta has helped guide me through the worst health issues of my life. It is because of his guidance and direction, willingness to answer every question I have, and to help me understand that I do so well. I know with Dr. Mendiratta's care I am going to continue to be stable and not get worse. It is very comforting to know your doctor cares about your health and makes himself available to talk between appointments, should the need arise. Dr. Mendiratta is a leader in his profession. I was blessed to be placed under his care.
Dr Minderratta is so personable. I was hesitant to have the transplant but I would tell everyone I know trust Dr Minderratta and Dr Alebrahim for pre op, operation, and all post ops. The entire office and staff make you glad you're in their care

The knowledge the Doctor had about what was going on and how things needed to be in order for a serious surgery coming up was wonderful. He explained everything in great detail and asked several times if we had questions and would take the time to answer them before moving on to the next detail of the procedure.
I have a great medical provider who cares about my well being. He patiently discusses any concerns or questions I have. I have learned so much from him to help me improve my health issues. He talks to my husband and I both, which means a lot to both of us. This provider always makes himself available to his patients and tells you to reach out any time and he will return your call.
