Did you know mental health conditions affect 1 in 5 Americans? Although millions suffer from mental health issues, fears of stigma and judgment prevent many from seeking the care they desperately need. At The Ohio State University, mental health is taken very seriously. Although we offer many mental health resources to the community at large, we are now working to provide a program specific to all first responders, as we recognize that this group faces some unique stresses and job-related issues each day. Developed in collaboration between the university and The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, the mental health program for first responders will include tailored treatment delivered with respect and in partnership with each individual. Stay tuned for more information in the coming months.
