Biography

I am a cardiac surgeon at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center specializing in advanced surgical treatments for complex aortic disease, heart failure and comprehensive adult cardiac surgery. I provide expert care across the full range of adult cardiac procedures, including aortic surgery, heart transplantation, valve repair and replacement, and coronary artery bypass grafting.

My aortic practice spans the complete spectrum of aortic pathology, with expertise in the treatment of aortic dissection and aortic aneurysms involving the aortic root, ascending aorta, aortic arch and the thoracoabdominal aorta. I perform open, hybrid, and advanced reconstructive aortic procedures tailored to patients with high risk or anatomically complex disease.

In addition to my aortic work, I specialize in advanced heart failure surgery, including heart transplantation, mechanical circulatory support (LVAD and ECMO), and surgical management of low ejection fraction and complex cardiomyopathy.

I am an active member of both the multidisciplinary Aortic Center and the heart failure team at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital. Through these collaborative programs, I work closely with cardiologists, vascular surgeons, intensivists and transplant specialists to deliver coordinated, patient centered care for individuals with advanced cardiovascular and aortic conditions.

I completed my cardiovascular surgery training and fellowship in Japan, followed by advanced subspecialty training in heart failure and transplant surgery at Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University in St. Louis. I am committed to providing compassionate and culturally sensitive care to a diverse patient population.

My training in both Japan and the United States exposed me to a broad spectrum of cardiac disease, from coronary, valve and aortic pathology to the most advanced forms of heart failure. These experiences shaped my dedication to evidence-based practice, surgical innovation, and education, and continue to drive my mission to improve outcomes for patients with complex heart and aortic disease.
