Additionally, Ohio State Wexner Medical Center is the No. 1 ranked adult hospital in Columbus and second in Ohio after Cleveland Clinic.

Ohio State Wexner Medical Center is nationally ranked in cancer; cardiology and heart surgery; diabetes and endocrinology; ear, nose and throat (otolaryngology); gastroenterology and GI surgery; neurology and neurosurgery; obstetrics and gynecology; pulmonary and lung surgery; and rehabilitation. In addition, Ohio State specialties rated as high performing and among the top 10% of all rated hospitals include geriatrics, orthopedics and urology.

U.S. News also rates hospital performance in the most common surgical procedures and medical conditions. Ohio State is rated high performing in colon cancer surgery, lung cancer surgery, ovarian cancer surgery, prostate cancer surgery, abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, heart attack, aortic valve surgery, heart bypass surgery, heart failure, diabetes, kidney failure, stroke, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and pneumonia.

According to U.S. News, the Best Hospitals report is a tool to help patients find the best providers of complex medical care. It uses a data-driven analysis of performance measures to evaluate more than 5,000 hospitals across 15 specialties and 20 procedures and conditions.
