About
Dr. Block is an attending neuropsychologist within the Section of Neurobehavioral Health, which is a specialty section within the Division of Psychology in the larger Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at Ohio State. Outside of clinical and scholarly activities, she contributes to the supervision and education of students and trainees. She also has a passion for professional service, and is highly involved in committees within national and international neuropsychology organizations. She is a recipient of the Early Career Award from the National Academy of Neuropsychology.

Research/Clinical Interests:
Dr. Block’s primary clinical and research interests are in adult epilepsy syndromes, white matter disease and movement disorders. She has specific interests in the areas of pre/post-surgical evaluations, neurosurgical assessment techniques (e.g., Wada, fMRI mapping) and secondary influences to neurocognitive performance (e.g., sleep disorders, medication effects, knowledge and expectancy effects).

Research Techniques: Dr. Block uses comprehensive clinical neuropsychological evaluations to examine neurocognitive, emotional and behavioral factors of interest in populations with neurological disease, neurotrauma and/or medical illness.

Current Research Projects: Dr. Block engages in collaborative research with faculty in the Ohio State Section of Neurobehavioral Health, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health, Department of Neurosurgery and Department of Neurology. She is open to consultation and collaboration with other areas and institutions, being currently involved in a collaborative project with the departments of Neurology and Neurosurgery that examines the efficacy of focused ultrasound in focal onset epilepsy.
