Planning international travel? Wherever your journeys take you, The Ohio State University Outpatient Pharmacy’s Travel Vaccine Clinic makes it easy to stay healthy, get prepared and enjoy your travels with confidence.
At our Travel Vaccine Clinics located at Outpatient Care New Albany and Outpatient Care Dublin, we offer a variety of vaccines – including often hard-to-find options, like yellow fever, as well as more commonly needed travel vaccines, such as typhoid and rabies, and even the routine vaccinations you need regardless of travel.
Which vaccines do I need before international travel?
We simplify international travel vaccinations. During a single visit, our expert pharmacists will review your travel plans and current vaccinations to identify and administer the additional vaccines you need for each destination.
- We follow the latest recommendations and guidelines from the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
- Travel vaccines can be administered to individuals 5 years old or older without a prescription.*
*(Based on pharmacist authorization outlined in Section 4729.41 of the Ohio Revised Code.)

- Please note that the Ohio State Outpatient Pharmacy doesn’t accept discount cards, such as GoodRx.
What to expect at the Travel Vaccine Clinic
An appointment at the Travel Vaccine Clinic takes about an hour to give us enough time to review your immunization records, overall health and travel plans and to give you all recommended vaccines.
A short follow-up appointment might be needed if certain vaccinations aren’t available the same day. We’ll schedule this during your initial visit.
What do I need to take to my appointment?
- A list of current immunizations. (If you have a MyChart account, your current immunizations should be listed there.)
- A list of every place you plan to travel. Include even short stopovers.
- If you need a yellow fever vaccine: Your passport (or a picture of your name on your passport). The name we write on your International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis (ICVP) or “Yellow Card” must be written exactly as it appears on your passport.
Please also be ready to discuss any chronic conditions or illnesses.
