Experience and Interests
Julie started working in acute care at The Ohio State University in 2014, with all of her years at the medical center spent treating oncology patients in The James. She had a vast professional experience prior to that, working in skilled nursing, long-term acute care hospitals and home care settings.
She assumes a leadership role in the Acute Care Therapy department as the Student Assistant Liaison. Julie oversees the Ohio State student assistants who help the Acute Care Therapy staff with their daily needs, including hands-on patient care and clerical items in the office.
As an experienced clinician, she is enthusiastic about continuing to expand her knowledge base with continuing education, hands-on learning and collaborations with coworkers. Julie is also a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association, incorporating the knowledge she gains from attending continuing education courses to improve her practice and further assist patients in meeting their goals.
In her free time, she supports her two daughters in their many activities, including marching/concert band and cross country. She also serves as a Sunday school teacher and a youth adviser at her church.
