Experience and Interests

Mary joined the Acute Care Rehab team at Ohio State Wexner Medical Center in 2017, specializing in occupational therapy in the Neonatal Intensive Care. Her concentration lies in oral motor function and infant feeding, with focus on pre-oral stimulation in extremely premature infants, fragile preterm infant feeding, caring for infants with neonatal abstinence syndrome and furthering the development of infants and their families. She has attended the Fragile Infant Feeding Conference, Breastfeeding 201: Promoting Breast Milk and Breastfeeding Success in the NICU, and is General Movement Assessment-certified.

Mary is a member of multiple disciplinary committees in the NICU, including Breastfeeding, Kangaroo Care, NAS and Neurodevelopmental Care. She completed IGNITE, a 15-month training course, is a member of the National Association of Neonatal Therapists and enjoys incorporating the knowledge she gains from attending continuing education courses to improve her practice and further assist infants and their families.
