Experience and Interests
Following more than 12 years in Inpatient Rehabilitation services at Dodd Rehabilitation Hospital, with a specialization in stroke rehabilitation, Marla transitioned to Acute Care services. Her early areas of interest included rehabilitation of right hemisphere stroke, on which she presented at the state level and published a patient/family education guide. She assisted in the development and training of staff in completion of Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES), and has gained broad experience with many different patient populations. Recent areas of interest include dysphagia assessment and treatment in cardiac and cardiothoracic surgery patients.
