Experience and Interests
Nicole has clinical experience in acute care, long-term acute care, inpatient/outpatient rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility settings. She is certified to perform Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) and Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBSS). Her experience encompasses patient populations including stroke, traumatic brain injury, tracheostomy, ventilator, geriatric, cancer, laryngectomy, medically complex and long-term acute care patients.
Nicole is a board-certified specialist in dysphagia. Her focus is in neurology, neurovascular and neurosurgical patients. She has a passion for educating students, colleagues, patients and families in the area of speech-language pathology, having given presentations at the local, state and national levels as well as guest lectures at the undergraduate and graduate levels. She also enjoys having an active role in research as well as leading projects to advance practice in the medical center.
