Experience and Interests

Jess Donovan is an Outpatient Physical Therapist, Director of the Geriatric Physical Therapy Residency Program at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC), and Assistant Clinical Professor in the Division of Physical Therapy at The Ohio State University (OSU).

After earning a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from OSU, Jess completed OSU’s Geriatric Physical Therapy Residency program in 2012 and became a board-certified Geriatric Physical Therapy Specialist. Early in her career, Jess treated patients and served as a rehabilitation director in home health and skilled nursing settings. In 2020, she transitioned to OSUWMC full time as an outpatient therapist and educator. Since then, she has completed a Master of Public Health degree at OSU, contributed to quality improvement initiatives, and championed educational and health equity across all her roles.

Jess is passionate about advancing care for the geriatric population through clinical practice, systematic quality improvement, and both pre-professional and post-professional education. Her clinical interests include dementia care, bone health, balance and fall prevention, and health policy as it relates to older adults. She is committed to integrating evidence-based practice with advocacy to improve outcomes and promote equitable access to care for aging populations.
