FAQs
Executive Health offers a thoughtful alternative between traditional primary care and full concierge medicine, delivering extended visits, direct access to a smaller physician team, and coordinated specialty support within a modern, professional setting.
While we do not include every amenity sometimes offered in concierge programs (such as home visits or in house spa services). Our emphasis is on exceptional clinical care supported by customer service and genuine hospitality. Timely communication, thoughtful guidance, and personalized attention are core to the experience. Patients receive the respect and responsiveness they might expect from a concierge-level model, paired with ongoing medical partnership and assisted navigation within a nationally recognized academic health system.
No. After extensive research, we’ve seen that a full-day experience is sometimes just as taxing, if not more, on an executive than a few well-planned, convenient appointments. Also, one day does not allow for the ongoing doctor-patient relationship we feel is necessary.
Our Executive Health visits are designed with your time and comfort in mind. Most appointments last just two to three hours, including parking. Established patients may have labs arranged in advance to reduce fasting and shorten visit time if necessary. Every test we recommend is carefully chosen for your individual needs, so you get truly personalized care.
Yes, each patient has a dedicated primary physician in the practice who oversees their care. All our physicians work closely with one another, as well as with our nurse practitioners, nurses and support staff to ensure seamless coordination of care. Our nurse practitioners may also answer your MyChart messages and see you for return or acute care visits to provide more timely service.
A provider can be reached for your urgent needs after hours, on weekends, and even on holidays. You have direct 24/7/365 phone access to a physician from our Executive Health team. Unlike large group coverage, our select team of physicians understand your needs and expectations, delivering truly seamless relationship-based care. MyChart messages should not be used for after-hours needs that cannot wait until the next business day.
We will collaborate closely with you to accommodate scheduling needs, both within Executive Health and across the rest of the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center. The goal for acute care visits in Executive Health is to have patients seen within 48 hours by one of our providers, either in person or with a telehealth appointment. Note: This does not apply to annual physicals.
Membership in Executive Health does not equate to priority scheduling or "moving to the front of the line" ahead of other medical center patients. Our team acts as your advocate, personally coordinating to secure the most convenient and/or expeditious appointment time available. We work diligently to accommodate your preferences, and Executive Health will continue to address medical issues in our office until handled by specialty.
Each physician maintains a thoughtfully limited patient panel to ensure we can offer the access, attentiveness, and relationship-based care that define Semi-Concierge Medicine®. When a provider’s panel reaches capacity, it is respectfully closed to new memberships in order to safeguard the experience of current patients. On rare occasions, this may apply to the entire practice.
While we do not maintain a formal waitlist, we encourage you to revisit our website for updates on availability. Demand for this model continues to grow, and we are actively exploring expansion with additional providers and locations so that we can welcome more members without ever compromising quality.
This will depend on the year and time of the year in which you join us. Please discuss this question with the Executive Health team member who reaches out.
Traditional insurance plans do not cover the membership fee, and current federal regulations prevent HSAs from applying to it, as the cost cannot be itemized into billable medical codes. However, some employers offer wellness or lifestyle spending accounts (LSAs) that may apply. We recommend checking with your benefits administrator or tax professional.
As part of our commitment to provide prompt personalized care, membership fees are collected in full upon enrollment each year. This allows us to focus entirely on your care rather than on billing arrangements.
Please make sure OSU is within network with your current insurer. We will bill your insurance for billable services such as visits, lab tests and imaging. All billable encounters will be submitted to your insurance on file. Check with your medical benefit plan before applying to the Executive Health Program.
No. Membership fees are processed only through our secure online billing system. The portal is mobile-friendly, and our team can provide a direct link with instructions. We do not handle cash or credit card transactions in the office.
Membership fees are non-refundable except in rare and exceptional circumstances, as outlined in your agreement. This ensures consistency and fairness across all members.
There are no discounted fees related to specific occupations or roles in the community.
Beginning in 2026, Executive Health will offer an auto-renewal option. You may still be required to electronically sign the updated membership agreement each year as part of compliance procedures.
Applicants must carry eligible insurance, be willing to pay the membership fee, and align with the expectations of a preventive and engagement-based care model. All applications are reviewed individually, and acceptance is at the discretion of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Long-term pain management is not provided in this office. Undisclosed reliance on such services may result in termination of membership or the application process.
