August 2025 - Updates for all patients

Appointments

When scheduling a new appointment, you’ll now be asked to verify your insurance information. View or update your insurance information anytime.

Before your next visit, you can verify your preferred pharmacy to use for any prescriptions. We’ll send you an email reminder or MyHealth mobile app notification when it’s time to complete preregistration for your upcoming appointments online.

Also new in preregistration, add your medications and allergies faster using the new search bar. Choose from our list or enter your information manually if you don't see your option.

Share your family history with your care team before your appointment using the new Family Tree feature. View and update your family history any time. Keeping your family history up to date online will help ensure your visit time is spent talking to your provider about your present health concern.

Security

Secure password reset links will now only be sent to the email or phone number listed in your account settings. For your safety, no temporary passwords will be provided by MyChart Technical Support. Please add MyChart_DoNotReply@osumc.edu as a safe email sender to ensure you receive your password reset link. 

When logging in to MyChart on a new device, two-factor authentication is required to access your account and add it as a trusted device. If you’re using a web browser to log in, you can now set a passkey for a more convenient and secure login without using your password. For an even faster experience, enable Face ID or biometric login on your mobile app. Manage your passkeys and trusted devices anytime in your account security settings.

Video visits

Meeting with your provider over video? Telehealth visits are getting even better, interpreters can now be invited by your care team to join your visit. Interpreters are available for video visits in Spanish, Sign Language, Chinese-Mandarin, Vietnamese, Arabic and Russian. You can manage your preferred language anytime in your account settings.

Care journeys

Have an upcoming surgery? Participating in a research study? You can now see your care team members, appointments and tasks assigned to you in Care Journeys.

My care plans

If you’re enrolled in a Care Companion plan, To Do task reminders from your digital assistant are now sent in a single notification at 8 a.m. Customize the time of your care plan notifications and select email or mobile app notifications in your Communication Preferences for your To Do list.

February 2025 - Updates for all patients

Test results

Your results will be clearly labeled normal or abnormal. Additional details are available by clicking on the specific test result. If you have questions about a specific result, you’ll now be able to message your care team directly from the results screen.

Bill pay

You can now generate an itemized bill whenever you want and see the cost breakdown of a bill anytime. Update your payment methods anytime you want. Patients at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, stay tuned for changes to our payment options coming later this spring. We'll accept credit cards, digital wallet, MyChart and ACH payment. Only the Central Cashiering Office will accept cash.

Preventive care

We’ve made it easier to stay up to date on preventive care. Your recommended appointments can be scheduled right from your list of health reminders.

Visit MyChart > Menu > My Record > Preventive Care.

Security

Try the latest two-factor authentication option from Google or Apple Authenticator to add an extra layer of security to your account.

Visit MyChart > Menu > Account Settings > Security Settings.

Appointments

You’ll now receive notifications for appointments you have available to schedule in your account. If you’re using your appointment details to launch driving directions to your visit, MyChart will ask you to allow permission to share the destination address with your map application.

My Care Plans

When your doctor enrolls you in a Care Companion plan, you’ll be able to customize To-Do notifications during the set-up process. Choose time of day you receive your reminders and more. For pregnant patients, you’ll find expanded features in your care plan, with a personalized pregnancy timeline, custom education and quick links to message your care team.

After you’ve had your first pregnancy appointment, you’ll also have an option to sign up for Pregnancy Updates from your MyChart Health Feed. Joining gives you access to additional information. You’ll receive a digital notification each time new information is available.

Design updates

We’ve made improvements to simplify the look of several activities in MyChart including, Health Trends (formerly Health Reports), Health Summary, Track My Health and Contact info. You’ll notice clickable links in your Health Summary and clear graphs of vitals from past visits for easy comparison over time.

Link my accounts

If you are a health care proxy for a loved one with appointments at multiple health care organizations, you’ll now be able to see all their information, even if you are only a proxy at one of the organizations.

Research studies

Patients actively participating in a research study will see the option to contact the research team in Research Studies and in MyChart Messaging.

MyChart Bedside

Share information about your hospital stay with loved ones using the Friends and Family Access feature in MyChart Bedside. You can access it from your hospital-provided tablet or personal mobile device.
