About Me
I am an orthopaedic surgeon, fellowship-trained and certified in sports medicine. I specialize in sports-related injuries. More specifically, my practice is primarily focused on the lower extremity injuries and knee injuries (anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries, reconstructions and revisions, meniscal injuries, repair and transplantation, multi-ligament injuries, cartilage injuries and restorative procedures, patella instability corrective surgeries, and ligament and tendon tears).
Dealing with knee and sports-related injuries can range from simple to complex. I believe in involving patients with their care, exploring all options to improve their health and returning them to the best condition possible.
I love my job because The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center has allowed me to blend my passion for clinical care, research and education all together. Because of this, I believe patients are receiving the best, most up-to-date care in the United States.

Dr. Flanigan was engage. He was extremely pleasant and took time to explain everything on my level.
Seemed very thorough. Explained results of MRI/X-ray clearly.
He was amazing I was scared because I have never been injured like this and he explained everything, listened. To me and told me not to worry we would fix it. It made me feel like he cared.
He was extremely easy to talk to and I felt he listened to my concerns
Listened very well to the issue I am having and recommend an MRI, which is what I was hoping to do.
Helped describe the next steps in an easy to understand way.
Dr Flannigan performed my surgery 7 years ago on my left knee and when I started to have troubles with my right knee he was my first call. He is professional, courteous, affable and treats my needs and concerns with the utmost respect and care.
Dr. Flanigan was friendly, professional and actually listened to me and answered all of my questions. I feel fortunate I have him as a care provider, and his team has always been great.
Everyone appears to care about your well-being!

Good gentlemen that were very articulate in describing things to me. They listened to what I had to say and explained things well.
Dr. Flanigan is the kindest, most caring dr. I've ever had. Which is just icing on the cake because he's also technically amazing. I'm thankful I was referred to him.
Dr. Flanigan is AWESOME- I am unfortunately a repeat offender & he has treated for my 3 ACL tears.
They answered all my questions!
He was very professional and showed concern for my injury, I feel confident in his ability to care for me.
All good! Appropriate tests ordered prior to appointment, discussed the results in the appointment, thorough examination of my problem, discussed options for now and possibilities for the future. Very kind, professional demeanor, and knowledgeable.
I feel he didn't listen to me.
As always, my provider listened to me, advised me as to proper activities & made me feel good about my situation.
Very good job.
Unsure if provider even looked at records, did not seem to care about my issue or want to help, basically just passed my care in my opinion. Do not recommend and will never be back to Ohio state for any issue I may have
I appreciate that Dr. Flannigan answers my questions and knows the history of my injury.
The best ever courteous, professional and knowledgeable
