Biography
I enjoy my job as a certified nurse midwife because I love supporting my patients through multiple stages of their lives. I am passionate about physiologic birth and caring for my patients during such a vulnerable time. I feel honored to be there to celebrate these special moments with them. I also see patients for family planning and contraception, and offer mental health and infertility care. I feel strongly about empowering my patients through open and honest discussions. I believe each patient should be directly involved in their own health care, and I always educate them about their treatment options.
My experience includes time spent as a research nurse in the Department of Maternal-Fetal Medicine here at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. I had the opportunity to collaborate on cutting-edge research focused on treating and preventing conditions like pre-eclampsia, postpartum hemorrhage and preterm birth. One of the projects I was proud to work on was the development of an innovative intrauterine device, called the JADA System, to treat postpartum hemorrhage.
I loved being able to help birthing persons on a larger scale, but this experience also clarified just how much I love working one-on-one with patients and their families during pregnancy and birth. I use the knowledge I gained as a research nurse every day when educating and treating my patients.
I love that Ohio State supports so many of my passions – supporting routine, physiologic pregnancies and births while having the necessary resources and innovative health care options available when things don’t go as planned. I also appreciate that my patients can be involved in research that may benefit not just themselves, but countless others in the future.
When I’m not working, I enjoy baking, reading, spending time with my family and going on adventures with my dog.

I have never seen Hannah before. She's wonderful!

Hannah (nurse midwife) was amazing, as usual. She is very easy to talk to. She remembered little details about my life and my plan to conceive with my wife, which was really nice. She let me know every time she was going to touch me and answered all of my questions about my symptoms and issues. I feel very safe with her and feel like she will help me get answers about what is going on. I can't wait to work with her (and the other midwives) when I am pregnant!
