About Me
As an internal medicine physician specializing in cardiology, I see patients for a variety of conditions here at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. I have special training in adult congenital heart disease, and I also regularly work with athletes and pregnant patients.
My role includes working with colleagues at Nationwide Children’s Hospital as part of the Columbus Ohio Adult Congenital Heart (COACH) program. Together, we ensure patients with congenital heart disease have seamless care as they transition from childhood to adulthood. It is deeply rewarding to see these patients go through each stage of their life and to help them achieve their goals.
My clinical interests include an emphasis on cardio-obstetrics. I work on a multidisciplinary team to provide excellent care for pregnant patients with heart disease. I enjoy working with these patients to help them achieve their goals for expanding their families in as safe a manner as possible. I see patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings. I also treat athletes, from a variety of sport types, for many reasons. My role includes completing relevant testing and determining if it is safe for them to return to their sport.
I like working collaboratively with patients to help them achieve their health care goals. I prioritize building good relationships with everyone who comes to see me so that we may figure out the best course of care tailored to their individual needs. I also ensure the patient thoroughly understands their heart condition and is comfortable with the treatment plan. This has been most helpful for them as they encounter other health care providers and specialties.
My role includes serving as a clinical assistant professor of Internal Medicine at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. I am also a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and an active member of the International Society for Adult Congenital Heart Disease.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 09/30/2024, Dr. McClelland has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
Excellent.
Explained everything very well. Answered all my questions, concerns. Did not order excessive testing. Very friendly and did not talk down to me. Good eye contact
The care provider was equally very professional, warm and friendly.

Excellent listener. Did not minimize my concerns. Did not rush.
Pleasant and personable. Easy to talk to. Listened and responded to all my questions. Provided details about my test results, medications, and overall health. She encouraged me to continue my health and exercise routines. Showed a genuine concern for my overall wellbeing.
Both student and doctor took a lot of time to discuss my health and the issue
She was personable and easy to talk with.
My care provider is very knowledgeable and professional. She gave me a highly satisfactory care.
She came to me prepared on my history & medical background. She was compassionate & took the necessary time to hear & answer my questions. She even offered for future questions I might have to be able to send these in MyChart or continue with follow-up appointments, if I need to. I felt like a patient instead of just another person in an assembly line.
Polite, friendly, caring.
She was very respectful and listened and answered all questions and she had a sense of humor also
On time, spent time with me. They were great.
No issues.
I didn't feel like my concerns were taken very seriously. I waited for months for an appt and tried many lifestyle changes in advance while I was waiting. I was given a very basic dietary recommendation and told to check in in a few months. Very disheartening when I'd been struggling for months waiting for appt.
MD alleviated my health concerns with good questions, professional presence, excellent assessment and answers.
