Havener Eye Institute Westerville

Westerville, OH 43082
Physician, Assistant Professor
Ophthalmology, Ophthalmology - Glaucoma
Department: Ophthalmology
As an ophthalmologist, I want to make sure my patients fully understand their conditions so they can take an active role in their health care. After the initial visit, we start a comprehensive treatment plan that might involve medical and traditional surgical therapy in addition to newer laser technologies and minimally invasive surgical techniques, depending on the patient's unique situation. I specialize in treating glaucoma (open angle, angle closure, secondary), cataracts, diabetic retinopathy and dry eye.
At Ohio State, I enjoy the opportunity to be on the cutting edge of therapies, a broad and diverse patient population, and the chance to train future ophthalmologists.
In my spare time, I enjoy watching films with my wife, spending time outdoors and cheering at sporting events with my children.

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

He is the best
Always feel very comfortable with Dr. Evans. He never makes me feel rushed. Wait can be a little longer but this is due to him taking the time to answer all questions and thoroughly explain situations. For this reason, I don't mind the wait. Very personable. So glad I was referred to him.
Excellent
Always pleasant, upbeat, & positive. I like him very much
I like this provider. I liked his attitude and concern for my eye problem.
Everything was excellent
My care provider is the best I could ever ask for. In addition to being professional and very knowledgeable, he is cheerful and friendly.
Good
Dr Evan's was great and explained what was going on with my eyes thoroughly.
Dr. Evans is my Glaucoma Specialist. He has a vast knowledge of Glaucoma and is concerned about his patients. I'm currently recovering from Glaucoma surgery. Dr. Evans cares about his patients to the point, in my case, of Instructing me to call him directly with any recovery issues.
Always very professional and answered my questions. I had to wait for a long time to see him but he apologized.
Dr Evans took the time to listen and answer any concerns that I had. I asked my previous Dr (11 years) the same questions and he answered by shrugging his shoulder and deflecting. Dr Evans advised me to stop taking a drop that I had taken for 6 years. He prescribed drops for my left eye that could help me maintain sight in my remaining eye.
