Biography
As an endocrinologist at Ohio State, I specialize in type 1 diabetes. I believe in personalizing my care approach to help patients adapt to life with diabetes, rather than only focusing on long-term glucose levels (A1C values), writing prescriptions and a quick discharge. I think it's important to help people understand the reality of living with type 1 diabetes.
I am working to develop a comprehensive program where people with type 1 diabetes feel they have a clinic that cares about them as a person. I want to help my patients adapt their regimen to their changing lifestyle. In addition to developing the clinic dedicated to adults with type 1 diabetes, we are also developing community-based activities and programs. Our goal is to have networking opportunities throughout the Columbus area for people with type 1 diabetes and their families.
One particular focus for our program is helping the young adults transition to college then to life after college. In addition to serving as an advisor on the national level for the College Diabetes Network (CDN), I also provide support to Ohio State’s chapter of CDN which helps to provide peer and social; networking to our college students living with diabetes.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

I just met them for the first time on this visit. They seem very caring & knowledgeable.
Knowledgeable, thorough, concerned and easy to understand
Listening, helpful
Good questions, demonstrated great knowledge about my condition
I was impressed that viewing blood sugars she could Tell I had some items happening in my life and asked me about that. She recommended a psychologist familiar with T1D.
Caring, quick and knowledgeable
I was in pain for three days after my visit. I would never let her look at my eyes again. I'm just grateful she's not the one that will be operating.
