Biography
As an electrophysiologist, I treat patients with atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, supraventricular tachycardia, ventricular tachycardia and implant cardiovascular electronic implantable devices. At Ohio State, I am able to place patients at the center of my care plan, where I have access to cutting edge technology and some of the most advanced research in the field in order to ensure that patients receive the best care possible. I enjoy working in a field that is rapidly developing to meet the needs of patients with heart arrhythmia. From a research standpoint, Ohio State opens many doors to test new methods that ultimately benefit our patients.
In my free time I enjoy reading, mentoring my children, traveling with my family and exploring the world with them. I also love to give back to my community. Improving the lives of those around me allows me to feel fulfilled as a father, a husband and a doctor.

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. I liked the doctor very much. He was very good at explaining the details of my condition and the options for my treatment plan. I felt very good when I left about the plan we made.
Although this was the first time seeing Dr. Houmsee, I am so grateful to him for taking his time explaining my options for controlling or eliminating my Afib. He showed me through actual illustrations what has been happening to my heart over the years I've had to deal with this menace, and explained the approach he will take in order to correct the ailment. He gave me hope.

This was my second visit with Dr. Houmse. I was impressed with him from the start. First time a serious situation. This a follow-up with good news. He is caring, patient, knowledgeable and skilled at what he does, yet humble. He was honest and straightforward with me, yet did not bull doze me. He explained what needed to be done, and we discussed his opinion as well as what I was comfortable with, and came up with a plan that worked well for me and that he was happy with. Even though I received good news he will still continue to monitor me by way of yearly check ups which makes me feel confident to know that he will still be available to me should the need arise.
