Biography

As a surgeon, I specialize in performing advanced endoscopic and minimally invasive procedures to treat a variety of issues. I am passionate about utilizing cutting-edge technologies to provide exceptional surgical care for patients with conditions such as obesity, metabolic syndrome, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), gallbladder disease, and hernias of the diaphragm, abdominal wall, or groin.

When evaluating a patient, I take a holistic approach to their care. I believe the best care is delivered when a physician takes the time to listen to their patient’s needs. I work with each patient to identify their goals and values and create a care pathway that is customized to their specific situation.

In addition to providing minimally invasive surgical care, I am passionate about developing and answering important research questions that can advance the field forward and improve delivery of care. My research interests include continuing to advance minimally invasive and robotic surgery capabilities, improving quality outcomes and ways to reduce opioid use after surgery. My research has been widely published in peer-reviewed journals and I have delivered many presentations at national and international medical conferences.

My role includes actively participating in the education and training of medical students, surgical residents and fellows. I am also an assistant professor of surgery at The Ohio State University.

When I’m not working, I love spending time with my family, attending Ohio State football games and traveling.

I can't say enough good things about this doctor. He's one of the most caring, kind, and knowledgeable doctors I've ever met. After having bad experiences with two other doctors elsewhere, I was very nervous and hesitant about surgery. From the very beginning, he made me feel comfortable and confident that I was in good hands. He came to see me morning and night during my two days in the hospital, which truly showed how much he cares about his patients. I'm now six weeks post-op, and I can honestly say he gave me my life back. I'll always be grateful for his compassion and skill.
