Amy Rushing, MD, FACS, is the new Trauma medical director for the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center. She joined the medical center in 2015 as a critical care-trained trauma surgeon. She completed a residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School in 2009 and a trauma/surgical critical care fellowship at R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in 2010. Dr. Rushing completed her acute care surgery fellowship at Johns Hopkins in 2011.

Her primary interests include developing improved resuscitation strategies for hemorrhagic shock, surgical rescue, emergency surgical care of the frail patient and is working to implement a Regional Trauma Quality Improvement Program for Central Ohio. She is excited to be taking on this new position and looks forward to collaborating with EMS providers.
