In-person conferences and live events give clinical teams and emergency medical services (EMS) providers an opportunity to collaborate and learn together from Ohio State’s nationally recognized pre-hospital experts. These education opportunities can also serve as a team building event and great way to gain insight from other local providers. Content is developed and presented by the Center for Emergency Medical Services (CEMS) at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center

Trauma & Emergency Medicine Conference: This is our largest annual event, and it attracts a wide range of EMS, emergency care and other health care professionals from throughout Ohio and the Midwest. Leading local and national presenters and other content experts present innovative topics and best practices in research and patient care. In addition to general sessions, interactive breakout sessions and workshops are provided.
EMS Controversies Conference: We welcomed the rerun of this popular event in March 2025, and its debate-style programming drew more than 160 EMS and emergency medicine personnel from agencies across Ohio. This conference series explores both sides of current, thought-provoking issues by evaluating evidence-based practices and differing expert viewpoints in EMS field care, research and operations. During this event, we were also honored to present a number of awards recognizing the exceptional care our EMS providers and agency partners deliver each day.
