Local contacts and other information
The County Board of Developmental Disabilities is an agency that provides support to children and adults who have developmental disabilities. Services are provided by the county in which you reside. Examples of services provided and/or supported by the county boards include community employment and supported living. There is a required assessment to determine eligibility for services.
Individuals will be assigned a Service Coordinator or Support Administrator to discuss goals for the future. Information provided will help with the development of an Individual Service Plan or ISP to help with person centered planning. The Service Coordinator closely works with each individual, family and their team, to help determine which supports they might need regarding daily living needs, new skills, or connection to community resources. Service Coordinators can also help with Social Security benefits, guardianship, Medicaid, waivers, and other benefits.
Please see below for additional information. If the county in which you reside is not listed – please search the internet to find the website for your home county board of development disabilities.
