Ohio State Wexner sets record-breaking kidney 'donation chain,' transforming 10 lives
Since our first organ transplant in 1967, our team of experts at Ohio State Wexner Medical Center Comprehensive Transplant Center continue to drive innovation through advanced research and excellent patient care. As central Ohio’s only adult comprehensive transplant center, we perform an average of 600 solid organ transplants each year.
Each April, thousands of pinwheels are planted on the front plaza of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center as a sparkling tribute to the power of organ donation and transplantation. Each pinwheel represents a lifesaving organ transplant performed at Ohio State since our first in 1967.
Healthy State Alliance, a collaboration between the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center and Mercy Health, has the resources and technology to tackle the most critical health issues facing local communities, including access to transplant care.
