Our center is one of the highest-volume inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) programs in the region. Our multidisciplinary team is dedicated to providing precision medicine and personalized care for every patient, from diet and nutrition to medical therapy and surgery. Refer a patient
To refer a patient to the IBD Center, fill out the referral form and fax to: 614-293-1456.
On the form, please indicate Gastroenterology as the "Refer to" and IBD as the diagnosis.
Please provide specific information about IBD diagnosis, most recent clinic summary, including pertinent labs, medications, imaging/scope or other pertinent information.
Clinical Trials
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is a national leader in conducting clinical trials for the prevention and treatment of various diseases, including IBD. Our center has many active trials, ranging from medication and surgical trials to diagnostics, microbiome and nutrition to provide the best outcomes possible for our patients.
Physician-to-Physician Consult
If your patient has an acute flare-up and needs an urgent appointment, or you just want a second opinion, we provide direct-access scheduling to meet your needs. Call 614-293-4444 to speak with a nurse triage specialist who can route you to one of our physicians.Nutrition Education
Nutrition plays such a significant role in the lives of IBD patients.That’s why we offer a free, 1-hour education session for patients with Crohn’s Disease (CD) or Ulcerative Colitis (UC) to help with improving overall nutritional status. This is a dietitian-led, interactive class focusing on the most current information to promote gut health. There is conflicting dietary information in the media as it relates to nutrition and CD/UC. This class dispels myths while promoting a nutritionally balanced diet.

Women and IBD
We know women living with IBD have unique concerns, and unfortunately, autoimmune diseases like IBD are more prevalent in women. That's why we have a dedicated Director of Women's Health to provide comprehensive care to address all female-specific issues.
We can address specific concerns, including:
- Pregnancy (Including birth concerns, nursing and childcare)
- Fertility
- Sexual health
- Menopause
