Experience and Interests
Kristy Guthrie began her career as an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter at a local school district, working with various ages and disciplines. She also began teaching ASL at the collegiate level to aspiring interpreters. Kristy was exposed to occupational therapy when family members were recovering from illness and she discovered a passion for rehabilitation. After approximately 12 years as an educator and interpreter, Kristy made the decision to pursue her dream of becoming an occupational therapist and began her journey at the University of Pittsburgh in 2015. She is thrilled to be a part of the Dodd Rehabilitation team and primarily works with vascular and general rehabilitation patients.
