Life-Changing Impact
When James, a husband and father from Amanda, Ohio, found out his kidneys were failing, he sought treatment at Ohio State’s Wexner Medical Center.
Without the expertise of the largest, most experienced kidney transplant program in Ohio, and the generosity of his friend Craig who stepped forward to be a living kidney donor, James wouldn’t be enjoying a normal life again. “I wanted to make sure that I was going to a really strong place for transplant, and Ohio State is the place to be,” shares James.
Living kidney donation can have a lifechanging impact, but it’s your generosity that makes happy endings possible for patients like James. Today, James doesn’t worry about being on dialysis for the rest of his life. He’s busy spending time with his wife, Laura, and playing with their two young daughters.
Heart-Saving Speed
Bill Graham was working on his computer when he suddenly slumped over in his chair. His wife Cindy found him unconscious, but with the help of 9-1-1 dispatchers, Cindy administered chest compressions until the squad arrived.
The paramedics surprisingly found Cindy passed out too.
