Biography

My priority for each patient and their family members is to provide innovative treatment strategies and education for their musculoskeletal injuries in order to expedite their return to sports and optimize their performance. I am a former Division I collegiate athlete so I understand better than most the struggles that athletes and active people go through when they are injured or have pain that limits their activity. Additionally, as a father of 5 children, all of whom have played organized sports, I try to put myself into the shoes of the parents of the young athletes for whom I provide care. Knowing that they get the best care possible to return them to the activities they enjoy and ensuring their long-term health are what matters the most to me. I am a fellowship-trained Sports Medicine orthopaedic surgeon and perform open and arthroscopic procedures to repair acute, traumatic, and overuse injuries of the shoulder, elbow, knee, leg, and ankle for athletes and physically active people. My team and I also design non-surgical treatment strategies for sports injuries and conditions.

Having grown up on a beef cattle farm in eastern Ohio, I have the utmost respect for not only athletes but also blue collar workers in the fields of farming, public safety, and the military. I truly believe their function and contributions are as valuable to our community as sports participation and enjoy treating motivated individuals like them. My patients, their family members, coaches and trainers will often hear me ask, 'What is your goal?' Many of them are surprised by this question because none of their previous doctors have ever asked something like this. Their goals are a major influencing factor in the individualized and tailored treatment plans I create with them. If you are a pro or collegiate athlete needing to get back into the game, a weekend warrior missing out on softball or sand volleyball, a cross-fitter, a triathlete, or if you just want to get back to playing backyard soccer with your kids, I will help you get back safely and as quickly as possible.

He was very nice. But basically told me I had to live with it when I know for a fact, I don't. It's called surgery to fix what the other guy screwed up! But he gave it no option!
