I know that each patient is an individual with different needs and problems. By treating each one on a case-by-case basis, I help them to get through whatever difficulty they have that needs surgical attention.
Education is important to me. I like my patients to be as educated as possible about their disease process. This can be as simple as explaining to them what is wrong and how we fix it, or as detailed as watching videos about how their surgery is performed. This, too, is tailored on a case-by-case basis.
I enjoy the team mentality that we have here at Ohio State. Everyone is working for the betterment of the patient, and that really helps me to take better care of people.
When I'm not working, I take time to relax with my family, read and enjoy the outdoors.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies, etc. because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 03/25/2016, Dr. Renton has reported financial relationships with the medical device, research and/or drug companies, etc. listed below. If you have questions about the relationships listed below, please ask the faculty member. If you have questions about how these relationships are monitored by The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, please contact our Compliance Office at 614-293-7802.
