About Me

My expertise in minimally invasive surgery and other procedures offers many benefits for my patients. I specialize in laparoscopic abdominal surgery, including foregut (esophagus and stomach), hernia and biliary disease.

I know that each patient is an individual with different needs and problems. By treating each one on a case-by-case basis, I help them to get through whatever difficulty they have that needs surgical attention.

Education is important to me. I like my patients to be as educated as possible about their disease process. This can be as simple as explaining to them what is wrong and how we fix it, or as detailed as watching videos about how their surgery is performed. This, too, is tailored on a case-by-case basis.

I enjoy the team mentality that we have here at Ohio State. Everyone is working for the betterment of the patient, and that really helps me to take better care of people.

When I'm not working, I take time to relax with my family, read and enjoy the outdoors.

He didn't seem to have time for me, very cocky feeling and didn't really care to hear what i had to say. I was there to explore other options and get some answers.

Dr Renton was well informed on my condition and explained it and let me see the images from the tests taken. He was very friendly and ask me if I wanted to have surgery. He did not try to pressure me. Since I knew all about my problem. I was so happy to have found him and I am 100% sure he will get through everything safely.
