Biography
My expertise in minimally invasive surgery and other procedures offers many benefits for my patients. I specialize in laparoscopic abdominal surgery, including foregut (esophagus and stomach), hernia and biliary disease.
I know that each patient is an individual with different needs and problems. By treating each one on a case-by-case basis, I help them to get through whatever difficulty they have that needs surgical attention.
Education is important to me. I like my patients to be as educated as possible about their disease process. This can be as simple as explaining to them what is wrong and how we fix it, or as detailed as watching videos about how their surgery is performed. This, too, is tailored on a case-by-case basis.
I enjoy the team mentality that we have here at Ohio State. Everyone is working for the betterment of the patient, and that really helps me to take better care of people.
When I'm not working, I take time to relax with my family, read and enjoy the outdoors.

Explained details about my surgery. Very thorough
Dr. Renton has done my surgery prior. He was informative, knowledgeable, confident and approachable with questions. Seemed to really care about my condition. So I am back for a possible second surgery.
He was so kind with a good sense of humor. He even put out an email for me so my situation could be attended to as early as possible
