About Me
I specialize in cognitive disorders and dementias, including Alzheimer's disease.
The care I provide takes into account that every patient is unique. They come with different talents, varied experiences and diverse environmental and family circumstances.
After a thorough evaluation, I can determine the diagnosis and create a personalized care plan for the patient’s specific medical needs.
Every patient and family deserves to be informed and educated on their medical issues and potential research opportunities. Patients at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center benefit from new discoveries and scientific advances as we strive to provide you with the best possible care.

Dr. Scharre is an excellent provider. He is well worth the wait, however long. I just question being ignored for the entire 2 hour wait.

Very very good.
Dr. Scharre is patient and always straight forward.
Dr. Scharre allow my daughter, who lives with me, to join the conversation, because she is the only one who takes care of me daily! She had to work important calls. She had to attend. She works at home. I thought that was very nice.
Wonderful caring doctor!
Dr Scharre is warm caring personality with humor with a vast knowledge of Frontaltotemporal degeneration.
We are so very lucky and grateful to be cared for and guided through this condition by Dr. Scharre. He is, of course, eminent in his specialty, and there is tremendous security and reliance on that fact. We are absolutely sure that every possible detail is being thought about, covered, and applied, as needed. He is also very personable (funny!) and intuitive; so focused on the individual patient and the welfare of the family, and life. It is a true gift to be associated with him and everyone at neurology. We are blessed. As a result, we believe that the outcome of this care reaches beyond what one might hope, and there is great comfort and security in this.
Top shelf. Very knowledgeable, caring, etc.
The doctor is very well informed.
Excellent. Had a clear path for finding the problems I was experiencing. It was a conversation, not an inquisition. He covered every aspect of my being in determining what tests to run. Very thorough.
