About Me
I am a non-invasive cardiologist, professor in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, director of the Lipid Clinics and section director of Preventative Cardiology and Women’s Cardiovascular Health at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. I specialize in women’s cardiovascular health, prevention and cardiac imaging. I am an avid promoter, educator and media spokesperson on both prevention and women’s cardiovascular health.
My clinical and research interests include obstructive and non-obstructive coronary artery disease in women. In addition to my clinical research, I have published a number of peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. I served as the first female president of the Ohio chapter of the American College of Cardiology and am a member of several committees within the organization.
I previously served as president of the metro Columbus Board of Directors for the American Heart Association (AHA) and as a member of their Great Rivers Affiliate Board and am currently the chair of the AHA’s Cardiovascular Disease in Women and Special Populations Committee.
Additionally, I chaired the American Heart Association’s first ever scientific statement on acute myocardial infarction in women as well as their first statement on breast cancer and cardiovascular disease.

She listened to my concerns, went to great diagnostic lengths to determine the cause of my symptoms. She was efficient yet personable.
My experience with all the staff and doctor was excellent.
Professional. Excellent.
Always a professional & productive meeting.
Dr Mehta had discussed my case with her assisting physician to compare notes, impressions & thoughts on my case. They considered both opinions before coming in to summarize my visit & insure the accuracy of their notes
She is the best...my old provider had me on prescriptions I did not need...she reduced them! She knows my issues very well and could not imagine going to someone different!!!
Everyone there was very nice and it made me feel comfortable about being there.
All good.
Dr. Mehta spent time with me to review my situation and make recommendations. Excellent doctor.

Dr Mehta as always expressed concern that my medication was correctly dosed and that I had the support that I needed
Dr. Mehta has always been good and attentive to me.
Dr. Mehta was very dismissive, she didn't think I needed to see a cardiologist apparently and made me feel like I was totally wasting her time, I mean she was just rude. Yes I'm in overall good health but so was my husband and he had a huge aortic aneurysm. It was found because his cardiologist did his job. I have a history of heart skipping. I was concerned about it. Just because I run marathons doesn't mean you should act like I'm not worth your time! Rude!
Doctor was polite and showed concern. She was thorough in family history and possible concerns from that history.
She answered questions & addressed my concerns

I am very pleased that Dr. Mehta looks at the whole picture & connects the dots between various health conditions. I find her research, papers & statements about the inter connectedness between various health issues very exciting. It's about time someone did this work. I know I will benefit from her work.
All was great. We discussed a few issues and I was assured my health was looking good.

Dr. Mehta is the best dr. I've ever had. She takes time to listen to my concerns (symptoms) and gives excellent advice about medication, treatment and recommended tests.
