About Me
My priority for each patient and their family members is to provide innovative treatment strategies and education for their musculoskeletal injuries in order to expedite their return to sports and optimize their performance. I am a former Division I collegiate athlete so I understand better than most the struggles that athletes and active people go through when they are injured or have pain that limits their activity. Additionally, as a father of 5 children, all of whom have played organized sports, I try to put myself into the shoes of the parents of the young athletes for whom I provide care. Knowing that they get the best care possible to return them to the activities they enjoy and ensuring their long-term health are what matters the most to me. I am a fellowship-trained Sports Medicine orthopaedic surgeon and perform open and arthroscopic procedures to repair acute, traumatic, and overuse injuries of the shoulder, elbow, knee, leg, and ankle for athletes and physically active people. My team and I also design non-surgical treatment strategies for sports injuries and conditions.
Having grown up on a beef cattle farm in eastern Ohio, I have the utmost respect for not only athletes but also blue collar workers in the fields of farming, public safety, and the military. I truly believe their function and contributions are as valuable to our community as sports participation and enjoy treating motivated individuals like them. My patients, their family members, coaches and trainers will often hear me ask, “What is your goal?” Many of them are surprised by this question because none of their previous doctors have ever asked something like this. Their goals are a major influencing factor in the individualized and tailored treatment plans I create with them. If you are a pro or collegiate athlete needing to get back into the game, a weekend warrior missing out on softball or sand volleyball, a cross-fitter, a triathlete, or if you just want to get back to playing backyard soccer with your kids, I will help you get back safely and as quickly as possible.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 09/30/2024, Dr. Miller has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
This was my 3rd surgery with Osu in the past year and it went extremely well so far
Good, very informative and bedside manor was top shelf
Dr. Miller listened to my questions about the right course of treatment and how best to improve my quality of life.
The very best
He was very nice. But basically told me I had to live with it when I know for a fact, I don't. It's called surgery to fix what the other guy screwed up! But he gave it no option!
Very helpful
Great experience! Very professional
Dr. Miller is a really great physician
Professional
Very knowledgeable and understanding, felt like I was taken care of and my issues were resolved
I was extremely pleased with the information Dr. Miller provided when I had questions or concerns. He didn't dismiss my concerns and offered suggestions to help. He didn't rush through my appointment and I felt a sense of relief afterwards because he listened to my concern about additional pain in a different area of my leg. The information he provided about the area made me feel confident in his assessment and I appreciated the fact he offered to do additional imaging in the event the care plan didn't work for my pain.
Great work!
Very caring
Listened and seemed very knowledgeable about what path needs to happen for my injury
Very friendly. Listened well.
I like Dr Timothy Miller. He answers all of my questions in a way I can understand.
Good: Provided ample time for us to have a thorough discussion about my health concerns, listened carefully to what I was saying, and explained options moving forward.
Dr. Miller was just spectacular. He made me feel heard. He explained everything very well and went over things on my X-ray.
I appreciated how Dr. Miller talked with me instead of "at" me like some docs. And he explained things patiently and thoroughly.
Good
Dr Miller is fantastic
Excellent care and bedside manor
He took the time to show and explain to me my test results, made sure I understood what they meant and went over next steps. I felt very informed walking out of my appointment.
Always attentive and discussed treatment going forward
Professional, explained well
It just seemed that I wasn't listened to and my concerns weren't taken seriously enough
Dr Miller is fantastic. He is well engaged and cares about finding the problem and getting it fixed. I can't say enough good things about him.
Quick and efficient service
Dr. Miller spent at least 15-20 minutes with me, answered all my questions and helped me process the best next steps regarding recovery for my injury.
I appreciate Dr Millers concern and believe he wants to help me feel my best. He always answers any questions I have thoroughly & is kind.
Understood my issues and ordered proper testing for next steps in care
Explained things very precisely. Told me all if the do's and don'ts with my care. I just met him at this appointment and I would trust him completely!
The medical student and Dr Miller worked together. They had clearly reviewed my information beforehand but were very thorough and complete in verifying when they came in the room. He designed a care plan specific to my situation. When I had a question after the visit he responded to my Mychart message very timely.
My knee surgery went very well with Dr. Miller. From the initial consultation, to the surgery, and follow-up, I have been very happy with the care I have received and for the repair of my torn meniscus. The surgery process was seamless-and I had no issue post surgery.
He was very thorough and listened to my concerns and provided a plan to improve the treatment of my injury
I am happy with my care.
Dr. Miller and his resident Ryan were both very thorough and took time to make sure they knew everything about my knee problem. They both treated me with respect.
Knowledgeable and right to the point.
Dr. Miller gave me an excellent explanation that was easy to understand, and he guided me through both short-term and long-term treatment options.
Very to the point, which is appreciated.
I really like him I feel confident that he's going to take care of me
Prompt. Knowledgable. Answered all questions. Scheduled tests and follow up appointment and subsequent surgery very timely.
Dr Timothy Miller was the greatest doctor I've had to help me with my new situation
Involved and caring. Able to provide a solution quickly.
Provide was very clear with explaining my health needs, and answered all of my questions.
He was very professional and treated me with genuine concern
