The Brain Injury Rehabilitation Program at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio, helps people recover from nontraumatic and traumatic brain injuries (TBI). Whether your brain injury requires you to stay at our inpatient Dodd Rehabilitation Hospital or your care requires outpatient rehabilitation services, our physical medicine and rehabilitation experts will be there every step of your TBI recovery journey.

Inpatient brain injury recovery outcomes
In 2024, our inpatient Brain Injury Rehabilitation Program treated 176 people. Roughly 63% of the brain injury patients were male and 37% were female, and the average age was 58. They stayed an average of 17.95 days at Dodd.
Exceeding rehabilitation expectations, 72.2% of brain injury patients were discharged from Dodd straight to home – 88.5% were back in their own homes within 90 days of their discharge from the hospital.

Outpatient brain injury recovery outcomes
We bring the same quality and compassion of our inpatient care to our outpatient brain injury rehabilitation program. Our expert physiatrists and therapists offer these services at locations throughout central Ohio.
In 2024, we treated 248 patients in our outpatient brain injury rehabilitation program. Patients had an average of 8 visits over the course of 11 weeks.
