Congratulations to Stephen Aberegg, one of the emergency medical technicians serving University Hospital's Emergency Department, for being nominated and selected as one of this quarter's BUCK-I Award winners!

The Bringing the Utmost Care and Kindness to Individual patients (BUCK-I) Award recognizes Health System ancillary nursing staff (non-RNs who report to a nurse manager) for extraordinary acts of compassionate care they demonstrate in their work with patients. Winners of this award are known for exemplifying the mission, vision and values of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and truly making a connection with the patient and family through trust and emotional support, often going above and beyond the call of duty.

"...Whenever we need help, Stephen appears out of nowhere to lend a helping hand, almost always without being asked. This spans from the trauma bay, to med assists, to common area code blues, to anticipating the needs of his coworkers. Stephen is always willing to do whatever is needed. He consistently exemplifies all of the above attributes, and patients' lives are changed for the better because of him. My peers and I nicknamed Stephen, "Super Stephen" several years ago because he is that amazing." -Kelly Duffey-Evans, BSN, RN, Stat Team
