Ohio State’s Health and Fitness Center is proud to be a part of the Philip Heit Center. We considered every factor that contributes to an individual’s health and wellness, then designed and equipped an environment that addresses them all, from prevention to nutrition to exercise.
Our Facility
Our finely-appointed facility includes:- Large cardio and strength training areas with accesss to state-of-the-art equipment
- Two fitness studios for group exercise classes complimentary with membership
- Three lane lap pool and warm water exercise pool
- Free weights area
- High-intensity training space
- Locker rooms with day-use lockers and towel services
- Sauna and steam room in each locker room to promote recovery

Current programs
The Ohio State Exercise is Medicine Program (EIM) is a physician referral program intended to increase physical activity in an effort to prevent and reduce complications from chronic disease. The program is structured to reduce as many barriers to exercise as possible, while providing personalized and safe exercise programming. Learn moreLiving Well is our comprehensive weight-management program that combines one-on-one support, group education classes and in-person exercise. It provides the most structure and support of all our lifestyle programs. Living Well focuses on weight loss through good nutrition, stress management and exercise to help you feel better, prevent chronic conditions such as heart disease or diabetes, and reduce complications associated with chronic conditions. Living well is also beneficial to those using GLP-1 medications or weight-loss surgery.
Living Well includes:
- Initial orientation with each staff member to assess current lifestyle habits and develop an individualized plan to reach your health goals.
- MedGem test to determine resting metabolic rate and caloric needs.
- An individualized meal plan developed in collaboration with the dietitian.
- Monthly individual appointments to assess progress and goals with each staff member.
- Weekly remote health education topics are held Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m.
- Weekly on-site exercise.
- Educational materials focused on nutrition, exercise and behavioral change, developed by our team of experts.
- Fitness evaluations in weeks 1, 12 and 24.
- Weekly weight and progress checks.
- Food and exercise journals reviewed weekly with personalized feedback.
- A 30-minute planning meeting upon completion of the program to review progress and set ongoing goals.

Every Body deserves a massage
Improve your wellbeing and treat health-related needs with our licensed massage therapist. Trained in a variety of techniques, they can provide personalized treatment.
Massage has been shown to decrease:
