Education: Ron graduated from Pittsburgh Massage Institute (now defunct) in 1999, and the American Institute of Alternative Medicine in 2003, with honors. He was an Adjunct Instructor in the Massage Program at Pittsburgh Massage Institute and Daymar College, Columbus Campus. Ron predominantly uses Neuromuscular Therapy, and Myofascial Release (part of the training at AIAM), Craniosacral Therapy (levels I and II) and Lymphatic Drainage (from the Upledger Institute), and Sports Massage from three groups. He has also taken two certification courses in Pregnancy Massage. Ron received a bachelor’s degree in 1991, from The Ohio State University, College of Agriculture, Food Science and Natural Resources, specializing in Nutrition. He was certified as a Paramedic at the Center for Emergency Medicine of Western Pennsylvania (affiliated with University of Pittsburgh), in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1998.
Background:Being a former accident-prone high school athlete, Ron tends to lean toward modalities that can benefit the current and former athlete, working on injury prevention and treatment. He has always been interested in learning new modalities that can be adapted to the athlete. He has worked with chiropractors on several sports teams, bodybuilder/fitness competitors, powerlifters, athletes aged 8 to 80, fitness centers, and day spas.
Hobbies: Ron tends to spend down time doing volunteer work. I have done a lot of volunteer work with Habitat for Humanity; Minerva Park EMS; Special Olympics; Pittsburgh, Columbus, and Cleveland Marathons; Alleghany Mountain Rescue Group; Ohio K9 Search Team; and training dogs and horses for Search and Rescue.
