Mary Mosquera-Cochran, RD
Nutrition is one of the primary pillars of good health and longevity. We believe the right kind of food is medicine. Nutrients are the fuel that allow our bodies to move, think, repair and detoxify. However, the wrong kind of food can slow down these metabolic processes and diminish our health and vitality. Meeting with our nutritionist will involve a detailed nutrition history — what you typically eat and drink — along with a discussion about your health concerns and current laboratory markers of health or disease. You and the nutritionist will work together to develop a plan that will move you towards better health.
Our nutritionists are adept at helping people with the following health challenges:
- Weight concerns (either under or over-weight)
- Pre-diabetes
- Diabetes
- High cholesterol or triglycerides
- High blood pressure
- Food allergies and sensitivities
- GERD (Gastro-Esophageal Reflux Disease)
- IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome)
- Celiac disease and non-celiac gluten sensitivity
- Inflammatory Bowel Disease (Ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease)
- Fibromyalgia
- Chronic fatigue syndrome
- Anxiety and depression
- Auto-immune disorders (such as Hashimoto's hypothyroidism)
In addition, we believe prevention is the best medicine. We welcome nutrition wellness visits for the purpose of preventing chronic disease.

Food Sensitivity and Nutrition Testing
Ohio State Integrative Health offers unique tests to personalize nutrition intervention.
The Cellular Nutrient Assays test assesses your need for micronutrients and antioxidants to help you determine the best diet changes and supplements to improve cellular function.
The ALCAT food sensitivity test is a blood test that measures white blood cell reaction to the foods or chemicals tested. Our dietitians use the ALCAT results to customize elimination diets for patients.
Think one of these tests could be right for you? Lori Chong, MBA, RDN, LD, explains both tests in more detail:

Registered dietitians will work with you to personalize an eating plan that is right for you. Calorie counting is not required except for short periods of focused attention if reducing calories is one of your goals.
We’re trained to help you with just this kind of thing. Your registered dietitian can help you identify tasty gluten-free foods, and we even have classes for you to learn about gluten-free eating in a fun way.
Many people who are lactose intolerant can drink some milk if it’s treated to remove the lactose, or if they take an enzyme tablet to break down lactose before they drink milk. If you don’t drink any milk, your registered dietitian can help you find tasty ways to get the nutrients you need.
Coverage varies by carrier. Check with your health plan to see if these services are covered for you and if you need your doctor to give a referral.
